LensBolt privacy policy

Last updated: 2 November 2026

This policy covers the LensBolt app for Android. In short, LensBolt collects nothing. It has no access to the internet, and your files stay on your phone.

What the app collects

Nothing. LensBolt has no account, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics and no crash reporting. It contains no code that sends data to us or to anyone else.

No network access

The app does not ask for Android's network (internet) permission, so it cannot connect to the internet or to any server. Files reach the phone only through the camera, from a screen that you point it at.

The camera

LensBolt asks for camera access for one purpose: to read the pattern that the LensBolt sender shows on a screen. The app processes camera images in memory on your phone and then discards them. It does not record or save them, and it never sends them anywhere. (A test mode for developers can keep a few camera frames in the app's private storage. It can only be turned on from a computer with Android developer tools, and a normal start of the app deletes those frames.)

Your files

Links that open your browser

The app may show links to pages outside the app, such as the project's page or a donation page. Tapping one opens your web browser, and LensBolt itself sends nothing. The page you open is run by its own operator, and that operator's privacy policy applies.

Google Play

If you install LensBolt from Google Play, Google may collect information under its own privacy policy, for example to provide the developer with crash and performance statistics. LensBolt adds nothing to that.

Children

LensBolt is a general file-transfer tool. It is not aimed at children, and it collects no data from anyone.

This website

This section covers the pages at lensbolt.com. They run entirely in your browser: a file you send or receive with them never leaves your device. The sender shows it on the screen, and the receiver reads it with the camera and keeps it in the browser's storage for this site only until you save it or start again. The receiver asks for camera access only to read the screen, and the camera pictures stay on your device.

The site sets no cookies and has no accounts, analytics or advertising. The pages remember a few settings, such as the theme, in your browser. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which handles the requests your browser makes to load the pages (including your IP address) under Cloudflare's own privacy policy.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date at the top.
